SUNDAY (10/2): Today we were in Split, Croatia. It got its name when the Roman Empire was split into East and West. It was a nice little stop. The castle and kingdom have been turned into shops and the church still holds mass. Grampa and Gramma took me to the beach…such as it was…it had cement walls and ladders like a pool to get in and out. We thought about going to some waterfalls, but they were over 2 hours away from port. We met some nice people from Montreal, Canada. They really liked me and took my picture to send to their 15 year old daughter – she’s a big fan! We went back to the ship for another very relaxing afternoon. I especially like the chocolate covered strawberries they bring to our room every afternoon. The sail away was very pleasant. I forgot to tell you that when we sailed away from Mykonos there was a pod of dolphins jumping and playing beside the ship – very cool! Hard to believe the cruise is almost over. Tomorrow is Venice and the next day back to Rome. We’ve had a wonderful time!
